World Recycling Day

“As a kid drying dishes, I remember being confused the first time my grandmother handed me freshly washed sheets of tin foil. By their crumples, it wasn’t their first wash-and-dry either. I thought they belonged in the bin; she knew they just needed TLC from my tea towel.

We used to tease her for how she unwrapped presents – “Just rip it open, Bu!”, we’d urge. But no! Sloooowly she peeled off the tape so she could stash the packaging for future use. Back then I put it down to her Scottish thriftiness. Now I can see she was into salvaging long before it became a thing.”

This week stay tuned for inspo from students and recent grads who are finding fun ways to reduce, reuse, & recycle (plus we’ll uncover what motivates them in the first place!).

Who do you know that’s a legendary recycler? Comment and let us know!
